Gannet on nest
Having not photographed seabirds seriously for some years I took the opportunity today to visit the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs just north of Bridlington.

A bright morning soon turned cloudy with occasional showers and despite having to trek along the cliffs with a huge amount of gear I was rewarded with some good shots of Gannets, Puffin, Guillimots and other seabirds and was also fortunate enough to see both Skylarks and Meadow pipits in the adjoining fields.

The poor Spring has clearly delayed both egg laying and hatching with the birds some 3 weeks behind where they would normally be in the breeding season but hopefully will be able to recover.

On the whole a good day and a further visit may be planned once the chicks hatch
